Erik van Blokland
Erik van Blokland struggled to choose between type design and programming, and decided to do both. He is the head of TypeMedia at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). He co-authored the Unified Font Object (UFO) specification, and developed tools that are used by professional type designers around the world. Out of necessity, he became a part-time Gerrit Noordzij historian.

Irma Boom
Irma Boom is an Amsterdam-based graphic designer specializing in book design. She worked for five years at the Dutch Government Publishing and Printing Office in The Hague. In 1991 she founded Irma Boom Office, which works nationally and internationally in both the cultural and commercial sectors for clients such as Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Ferrari, Vitra International, NAi Publishers, United Nations, and OMA/Rem Koolhaas.

Noopur Datye
Noopur Datye is a type designer and calligrapher from Mumbai, India. She is the co-founder of Ek Type, a collaborative type design studio that focuses on designing contemporary Indian typefaces. Noopur is an active member of “Aksharaya,” a non-profit that documents, promotes, explores, and creates awareness about Indian scripts.

Daniel Grumer
Daniel Grumer is a multilingual type and typography designer. He graduated from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and received his Master of Design at TypeMedia at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). In 2017, Daniel joined Fonstef, an independent type foundry, and he also teaches typography at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem.

Elias Hanzer
Elias Hanzer is a graphic and type designer originally from Vienna, now based in Berlin. Ever since dipping his toe into type design, he’s been a collaborator and friend of the Dinamo type foundry. In 2021 he released a superfamily, ABC Arizona. Alongside his type design practice, Elias co-runs the Berlin-based design studio Hanzer Liccini.

Linda Hintz
Linda Hintz is an independent type designer, graphic designer, and lecturer based in Copenhagen. She graduated from TypeMedia at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK) and spent several years at Monotype before going solo. Over the last year she collaborated with Pascal Zoghbi (29Letters) on projects relating the Arabic and Latin script.

Yanek Iontef
Yanek Iontef is a type designer and typographer. Born in the former USSR, he emigrated to Israel and studied graphic design at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. He has taught typography and type design at the Bezalel Academy and Shenkar College of Engineering and Design. In 1994, Yanek founded Fontef, an independent type foundry, and in 2021, he received the Rothschild Foundation award for graphic design for his lifelong work in preserving and reviving the Hebrew language.

Sarang Kulkarni
Sarang Kulkarni specializes in multiscript type design and calligraphy. In 2005, he founded WhiteCrow, a type foundry and design studio based in Mumbai, India. With clients such as Vodafone, Virgin Mobile, Star Network, and Coca-Cola, his studio has steadily found its niche in multilingual branding, designing custom typefaces across Indian scripts and calligraphy. In 2011, he co-founded Ek Type, a collective of type designers focused on designing contemporary Indian typefaces.

Indra Kupferschmid
Indra Kupferschmid is a freelance typographer and professor at HBKsaar in Saarbrücken, Germany. She’s been occupied with typeface observation, sorting and filtering most of her life 😭, always trying to help users find the most suitable fonts for their project.

Jeremy Mickel
Jeremy Mickel is the founder of MCKL, a Los Angeles-based type foundry and design studio. He’s built a reputation for custom work through partnerships with prestigious firms like Pentagram, Collins, and Wolff Olins, and for clients such as Adidas, The Atlantic, and the LA28 Olympics.

Shoko Mugikura
Shoko Mugikura is a Japanese typographer based in Germany. She gained a degree in Visual Communication Design from Musashino Art University (Japan), holds an MA in Book Design from the University of Reading (UK), and has taught multiscript typography at Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar (Saar College of Fine Arts). Together with her partner Tim Ahrens, she runs Just Another Foundry.

Jean François Porchez
Jean-François Porchez is the founder of Typofonderie, type director of ZeCraft, founder of the educational type course TypeParis, and one of the pioneers of digital typography. He was president of ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale) during 2004–2007, worked as a type director at Dragon Rouge, then at Le Monde newspaper in the early 1990s. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, used his typefaces for his communication since 2017.

Ulrike Rausch
Ulrike Rausch is a type designer based in Berlin, where, in 2009, she founded her own type foundry, LiebeFonts, providing high-quality typefaces with a charming personality and obsessive attention to detail. Her growing portfolio of handwriting fonts has been used in publications, advertisements, and websites all around the world.

Pascal Zoghbi
Pascal Zoghbi is a Lebanese designer and educator, and a graduate of the Master of Design degree from TypeMedia at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (KABK). He founded 29LT digital type foundry in 2013. Building on a cross-cultural approach, he has developed a collection of contemporary multiscript typefaces. Having moved to Madrid in 2018, he expanded 29LT’s focus on Arabic and Latin scripts to embrace a global multiscript approach that taps into other world scripts.
