Fontstand

Edge is a geometric typeface whose elements and shapes are defined by an orthogonal grid. While the grid establishes strict formal constraints, it also provides intriguing possibilities, and the typeface embodies a joyful exploration of what can be achieved by colouring inside the lines. Edge is playful despite its rudimentary forms, somewhat recalling the early work of the Dutch designer Wim Crouwel and his grid and module research. Edge is rooted in early digital technologies, but equally relevant for designers today.
