The Italian Plate super family is 341 weights and styles that extracts decades of Italian typeface design. The original No1 is based on a study of Italian number plates from the 60‘s, and inspired by the round and condensed profile and characteristic of that period. The elliptical upwards shape as basic design pattern, the equal stem width and the straight terminals across styles is what defines the Italian Plate super family.
No3 is an ornamental slab-serif, that succeeds in retaining a high legibility and functionality as a text font. It has a vibrant texture and sensitive rhythm, that comes to life when used in longer texts. When used as a display font, it has an elegant substance and personality, along with the more quirky details that enhance its distinctive nature.
The complete super family goes from No1 to No7 in a mix of various type classes and widths – all in 10 weights with corresponding Italics and loaded with alternatives.
