This capitals-only typeface is the glue of the entire Ohno library. It’s aspirations are humble: supporting the lower end of the hierarchy in compositions that feature other (ostensibly Ohno) typefaces at larger sizes. There are no options for weight, but four widths to make the decision-making process as quick as possible. Compadre features subtle flaring reminiscent of flat-brush calligraphy with the casual appeal of signpainting. There is just enough life to appropriate blend in with much livelier designs.
