Rounded sans serifs have brought friendliness to corporate design for decades, periodically going in and out of fashion. These round stroke endings are hardly noticeable in a thin weight, however, so Duplicate Round has an unusual solution: ball terminals – similar to the ones in Duplicate Ionic – bring the cheerful effect of rounded strokes to the even the lighest weights. Duplicate Round was first sketched for a children’s section in a proposed redesign of a Swedish newspaper. Though the section didn’t ultimately launch, the sketches later provided a starting point for Miguel Reyes to adapt Duplicate Round from Duplicate Sans.
