Edie & Eddy provides you with three different ways to make change happen. Sharing a Hairline base weight, each member of the Edie & Eddy superfamily has a different voice through treatment of contrast. A well-spoken Modern, the emphatic Edie & Eddy Slab and a crisply articulate Text. Together, they’re an exploration of the possibilities of the variable font format. In the more experimental Slab Serif, all the daring characteristics of this superfamily are visible and its soft tone is expressed through curves and proportions. Bringing freshness and a little bit of controversy, unconventional contrasts connect the Slab to the Modern. The egyptienne characteristics of the Slab SubFamily are loud and proud. Use it in posters, on demonstration banners, on newspaper covers, or anywhere a bold, loud, playful shout is needed. To have the last word, to stand up for what you believe in, the italics might also be a great choice of style: softer, but still strong as f***. Slightly narrower than the upright, the italics change the typographic grayscale, to heighten, to focus, or simply make an impression. With the help of stylistic alternatives, a clearer cursive can be activated — with sans serif ascenders, other variants of ‘a’ and ‘g’ as well as sharper shapes of ‘v’, ‘w’ and ‘y’. For those who want to further emphasise the soft tone of the italics, the script-like ‘s’ can be activated. Just like a heated argument, the message can be spiced up through a different tone of voice. Edie & Eddy has small caps, all kinds of figures and some rude, powerful and also peaceful hand emojis. It covers the Latin alphabet, including Vietnamese glyphs. With each 8 weights from Thin to Black plus matching italics, the Families cover all designers' dreams. Highlight with passion and break the rule of only using italics: the Edie & Eddy superfamily was designed to be used together. Combine the Slab with the Modern, the Text Italic to a Slab, you get the idea. A heated discussion, a clear statement, a counter argument. All this and more is possible in a variable superfamily born to harmonise, and differentiate. Go check out the rest of the bunch!
