Fontstand

Garda Nova is inspired by the writings of Renaissance master calligrapher Francesco Cresci. It comes in three variants—No.1, No.2 and No.3—with the same proportion and construction, originally based on the traditional roman capital letters known as Capitalis Monumentalis.

Each varient has distinct details: Garda Nova No.1 faithfully interprets the original drawings of Cresci, with classic shapes and traditional inscriptional serifs. At the other end of the spectrum, Garda Nova No.3 is a low-contrast sans serif with a humanistic British feel. Garda Nova No.2 stands in-between.

The use of this display, capital-only design has ranged from architectural lettering to refined stationery and packaging of luxury goods.
