Created for big, expressive display typography, Graphik XXX Condensed is best for “screamers” (an old British term for big, tabloid headlines) and feature spreads in magazines. In contrast to the typical style of straight-sided sans serifs, which traditionally maximize the black with closed terminals and small counterforms, Graphik’s condensed widths feature open terminals that allow for breathing room in the white spaces within the characters. This results in an inviting openness in the text, rather than becoming a relentless series of verticals reminiscent of a barcode.
