The Italian Plate super family is 341 weights and styles that extracts decades of Italian typeface design. The original No1 is based on a study of Italian number plates from the 60‘s, and inspired by the round and condensed profile and characteristic of that period. The elliptical upwards shape as basic design pattern, the equal stem width and the straight terminals across styles is what defines the Italian Plate super family.
No6 is a humanistic contrasted sans serif, with a very systematic design that gives it a nearly modular look. The font family is flexible and playful, with a broad variety of stylistic alternates. These integrated variations encourage the user to customise, experiment and explore all the opportunities at hand. The change of only a few letters influence the rhythm, resulting in a more illustrative style.
The complete super family goes from No1 to No7 in a mix of various type classes and widths – all in 10 weights with corresponding Italics and loaded with alternatives.
