The original idea and design of the Mixtape font family dates back to 2011. Designer Rostislav Vaněk wanted to create a typeface that, with its aesthetics, touched the roots of Bauhaus and the avant-garde, but had a clear textual and useful character. It is therefore not surprising that the basic source of inspiration is also the Futura font. Anyway, Mixtape is a completely different world. The main emphasis here is on excellent readability even in the smallest sizes. At the same time, thanks to condensed and extra condensed widths, the font can also be used in extremely large and entertaining headlines. The biggest dilemma when finalizing the font was what kind of lowercase -a- to choose. In the end, we decided to support the text character of typeface and use a more classic version.
