Designed in the 1990s by the calligrapher Giovanni de Faccio in collaboration with typographer Lui Karner, Rialto dF is a text face inspired by calligraphic tradition with uppercase roman letters, numerals and punctuation combining with lowercase italics. It comes in two optical weights: Piccolo, for up to 14 pt, and Grande for 16 pt and above. As the name suggests, it is a bridge between calligraphy and typography. It is also a tribute to the revived imperial letters of the fifteenth century. All versions come with alternate characters and several dingbats which are accessible through OpenType features.
