A monoline display typeface, Sarcastic draws influence from a visual language of mid-twentieth century consumerism: 1950s script typography and the rhythmic forms of interconnected neon lettering. In the heart of the postwar economic boom, emerging technology gave rise to a new consumer language. Development of phototypesetting made the overlap of characters simple and the use of script typefaces mushroomed at this time.
