Type Design by Women and Queers in the 20th and 21st Centuries: An exhibition running at the Klingspor Museum in Offenbach am Main in Germany through November 24th.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Geumho Seok, the founder and chairman of the Korean type foundry Sandoll.

When Marsha Emanuel, then head of graphic design at the French Ministry of Culture, launched Graphisme en France in 1994, she conceived it as an annual calendar of events around graphic design, a booklet whose purpose was to “help weave the necessary links between the various players in France and their potential audiences”, providing a space where the growing and lively French graphic design scene could become visible.

The exhibition “Modes and Characters: Poetics of Graphic Design” (“もじ イメージ Graphic 展”) explores Japanese graphic design since the 1990s – a period when computer-based design processes became mainstream alongside the rise of the internet.

For this year’s conference, Fontstand came to Ireland. Local designers and attendees from abroad were joined by type designers and many of our foundry partners.
